Our Product

Oak Floor Sitting RoomOak has wonderful character with naturally occurring knots, burrs and quarter-sawn grain.  Our boards are carefully chosen to bring out this character to its best effect.  As one of the more resilient hardwoods, Oak does not mark easily and will last for many decades if looked after, producing the warm, rich colour so characteristic of this popular hardwood.

Our floors suit both modern and traditional homes.  Their character can be emphasised in a period property or can enhance a more minimalist modern interior.

We supply character grade, random width flooring selected from seasoned and kiln dried boards which contain small knots, quarter sawn figuring and cats paw (Burr knots).  Our boards are tongue and grooved, 20mm thick with sizes ranging from 100mm to 200mm.  The average length is 2.2 metres.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Landing presenting an oak floorFitting:
Our unfinished flooring can be laid directly onto prelaid battens or joists, or straight onto existing chipboard or pine flooring.  You can glue the floor to concrete provided you use a specialised glue.  Secret fixing is the most common method for laying out floors with widths up to 160mm.  Other methods include screw and plugging or by nailing straight through the face.  The floors may only require a light/spot sanding after installation and we can recommend finishes to enhance your floor.

Moisture Content:
All boards are seasoned and then kiln dried to between 8-10% moisture content which is suitable for underfloor heating.  Please discuss your heating systems with us prior to order.

Storage:
All our flooring is delivered on pallets, and is wrapped and banded in polythene and should, after delivery, be stored in dry conditions until required.  Before laying our floors, it is advisable to allow it to acclimatise for at least 10 days in the environment that it is to be laid in.

Calculations:
You should add an extra 5-10% in your measurements for wastage, to allow for cutting back to the nearest batten or joist.

Terms and Conditions:
Our terms and conditions are available on request and will be forwarded with our order confirmation.  We require a deposit of 25% at the time of placing the order.  The balance is payable after delivery.

Delivery:
We deliver anywhere in the country.  Generally our flooring can be supplied within 2 weeks from receipt of order, but if you require our flooring urgently we endeavour to meet your requirements.

On the day of delivery can you please ensure that there is someone at the delivery address to receive the flooring.  In addition if there is an access problem can you let us know as we need to inform our carriage company.

A full pack list will accompany each order that goes out for easy checking on receipt of your delivery.
